Derrick Rose is all the way back, at least in terms of between-the-legs dunks on lowered rims (Video)

First, Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said Derrick Rose looked great during a June workout. Then, the star point guard himself confirmed that he'd be back from his year-long absence rehabilitating a torn left ACL for the first game of the Bulls' 2013-14 season (or preseason, depending on how you read his comments). Now, we see this:

What a powerful through-the-legs throwdown by the 2010 NBA Most Valuable Player! Sure, it's on a significantly lowered rim — let's call it an 8-foot hoop — without any defense at a Madrid event packed with kids at which Rose was still wearing a T-shirt and baseball cap, but hey, it's something.

He jumped off his left foot, too! I mean, sure, he was doing that 3 1/2 months ago, but this time he went through the legs! And, perhaps most importantly, he scampered away smiling afterward, which is not exactly something for which Rose is super well-known. That's nice!

On one hand, this is, of course, very obviously pretty meaningless in terms of Rose's relative leg health, leaping ability and explosiveness. On the other hand, it remains cool to see Derrick Rose to basketball things, or even basketball-adjacent things, while walking and running upright without injury or incident. Now go back to being cautious (but not too cautious) for the next couple of months, Derrick. We've been waiting a while for you to be in proper working order and back on the court during live NBA action, and with all due respect to Spanish children, we'd really hate to see anything jeopardize that now.

Hat-tip to r/NBA.
