Borussia Dortmund are one of several clubs chasing in-demand Twente forward Luuk de Jong, Bild reports.

The 21-year-old struck 25 goals in 33 games for Steve McClaren's side this season, but with Twente failing to qualify for the Champions League, he has been linked with a move away from the Eredivisie.

Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen on bringing De Jong to the Signal Iduna Park as replacement for Lucas Barrios, who sealed a move to Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande earlier this month, and sent scouts to the Netherlands' friendly encounter with Bayern Munich on Tuesday to watch the young striker.

However, the Bundesliga champions will face stiff competition in acquiring De Jong's services as the likes of Bayern Munich, Schalke, Borussia Monchengladbach, along with English sides Chelsea and Liverpool have all been linked with the Netherlands international.

Twente director Aldo van der Laan confirmed: "We know that there are several interested parties, including from the Bundesliga."

De Jong, who already has seven caps for Netherlands, has a valuation of around €15 million.
