MANILA, Philippines - Manny Pacquiao has weathered the storm.
After finding himself embroiled in controversy over supposed anti-gay remarks that were later found to be not his own statements, Pacquiao endured 12 hard rounds of sparring at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood.
The fact that Pacquiao has sparred 12 rounds in one day signalled the peak of his training and after a few more days, he will begin to taper off as there are only three weeks to go before his June 9 face-off with Tim Bradley in Las Vegas.
Mike Koncz told the Bulletin that his boss has been displaying fiery form in sparring and that one of them have been told to pack his bags after failing to enduring the pain and punishment that Pacquiao is dishing off.
The same is true with Bradley, who has been pushing himself to the limit in his training camp in Palm Springs.
"Pacquiao and Bradley are almost ready to go," exclaimed promoter Bob Arum from Los Angeles.
Arum said a busload of reporters and photographers are taking a trip to Palm Springs to check on Bradley's buildup.
Similar events are also on tap on May 28 and May 29 as Top Rank holds separate media days in Los Angeles for Bradley and Pacquiao.
Bradley's will be first to be staged at the Fortune Gym followed by Pacquiao's at the Wild Card the following day.
