Mario Fernandez, Rey Saludar, and Wilfredo Lopez drew byes in the men’s division sending them straight to the semi-finals in their respective weight divisions.

Iris Magno and Maricris Igam also drew byes in the women’s side while Josie Gabuco and Nesthy Petecio made it straight to the semi-finals because of the lack of entries.

The Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines' Ed Picson, confirmed the result of the draw via his Twitter account.

The eighth Filipino boxers sure to win a medal is light welterweight Dennis Gavilan who disposed of Cambodia’s Ratha Svay.

Only Junel Cantancio and former Olympian Mark Barriga are still unsure of qualifying for the medal round.
