NBA GLOBAL GAMES PH: YUP, IT’S HERE

The wait is over. The NBA Global Games have arrived in the PH. The Houston Rockets and the Indiana Pacers are in town for the historic pre-season game on October 10, 2013. Check out some photos from the first Media Day and Practice for each team.

Frank Vogel chatting with the media. He plans to have a balance in the rotation for the game on Thursday, especially for the younger guys. Vogel says the global fan support is overwhelming and he embraces it everyday. Being 1 game away from the Finals, he thinks they have added the pieces (Luis Scola and Danny Granger back) to get them over the hump. He then adds that Paul George is gonna be scary in the next 5 years.

PG 24. Paul George talks about watching more film in the off season and treating this game like a playoff game. He also described how the fans here are ridiculous, going bonkers from the airport ride to the hotel. He also mentioned Larry Bird as a big motivator in practices. “He pushes us to be better, pressures us. I believe pressure builds character.”

Luis Scola on facing his former team: “I have great memories in Houston. Now I’m looking forward to a new chapter in my career with the Pacers and I hope to retire here.”

Danny Granger on being healthy: “I feel great. Looking forward to contributing and helping us get that ring.”
