PHOTOS: Gilas players hang out with Heat’s Luol Deng
After getting greeted by the Miami Heat on Twitter and on Facebook, members of Gilas Pilipinas actually got to meet a member of the local team – newly-signed forward Luol Deng.
Point guard LA Tenorio, who was with guard Jayson Castro, and big man Beau Belga, posted pictures of them with Deng on Instagram. The pictures were taken from Gilas’ hotel in Miami.
Belga was so moved by the meeting that he declared, “#heatfannaakomulangayon”
Luol Deng averaged 16.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.0 steals last season, splitting his time between the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He parlayed that into a two-year deal worth $20 million with the Heat, the second year of the deal being a player option.
Gilas Pilipinas is in Miami, Florida for their training camp, ahead of the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain.
