Newly-minted UAAP Most Valuable Player Terrence Romeo of Far Eastern University could barely contain his glee after he was formally named Season 76's best player.

"Pakiramdam ko po ngayon, sobrang saya kasi hindi lahat nabibigyan ng ganitong award," he told the media after the awarding ceremonies. "Iniisip ko na nagbubunga ang hard work ko sa practices."

Romeo was named MVP after finishing first in the statistical race at the end of the second round of eliminations. Joining him in the Mythical Five were UE's Roi Sumang, UST's Karim Abdul, La Salle's Jason Perkins, and NU's Bobby Ray Parks.

The Tamaraws, however, lost to DLSU in th FInal Four, prematurely ending Romeo's season. With his quest for a first seniors crown put on hold until next year, the spifirish guard is now looking forward to playing again in the PBA D-League as well his first-ever stint with the national team in the Southeast Asian Games in Myanmar.

"Bata pa ako, pangarap ko nang maglaro sa national team," he revealed. "Ibibigay ko ang lahat para maging proud sa akin ang Pilipinas."

Romeo thanked everyone from his family, the FEU community, FEU coaches Nash Racela and Josh Reyes, and a host of others who have guided his career. WIth the award, he also became one of just a handful of players who have been named MVP in both the juniors and seniors divisions. He was named juniors MVP in 2009.

By winning the MVP, Romeo joined the likes of teammate RR Garcia, Arwind Santos and Johnny Abarrientos as the FEU players who have been named UAAP MVP, a feat that was not lost on the fourth-year player.

"Nakaka-proud talaga," he said. "Halos lahat sill nagging successful sa career nila. . Sana maging successful din ako."

Romeo also took time to address all the fuss surrounding his supposed rubbing of saliva on DLSU's Jeron Teng during their FInal Four matchup.

"Sa to too lang, pawis lang po iyon. Hindi laway. Mamatay man ako," said Romeo, drawing laughter from the media. He also said he wanted to personally apologize to Teng for what happened.
