USA Basketball announces rosters for Blue versus White Showcase

USA Basketball has released the rosters for the Blue versus White Showcase Game, scheduled for Saturday morning (PHL time).

Team White, which will be handled by Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau, has Kyrie Irving and Damian Lillard at the point, former teammates Kevin Durant and James Harden, Chandler Parsons, Klay Thompson and Bradley Beal as the shooters, plus Paul Millsap, DeMarcus Cousins and Andre Drummond as the bigs.

Team Blue on the other hand is under the tutelage of New Orleans Pelicans mentor Monty Williams. His lineup consists of Derrick Rose, John Wall and Stephen Curry as floor generals, Paul George, DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Korver and Gordon Hayward at the wings, rounded out by big men Kenneth Faried, Anthony Davis, plus Select Team call-up Mason Plumlee.

Yup, that Mason Plumlee of the Brooklyn Nets (and former Dukie).

In fact, Plumlee’s odds of making the final 12-man roster for the FIBA World Cup are said to be pretty good, according to ESPN analysts Fran Fraschilla and Brian Windhorst. Windhorst even has him going in over DeMarcus Cousins, which would either send Boogie into a furious rage or drive him to post MVP-level numbers next season for the Kings. Or both.
