We were afraid of this. New UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis recently suffered the latest in a string of serious knee injuries this year and had to pull out of a title defense against Josh Thomson.
Now, Pettis says that the injury will keep him sidelined for six to eight months.
“The doctor said six to eight months. I’m hoping six months, so hopefully I’ll be back for a July fight," Pettis told UFC Tonight.
