Evolve MMA Adds Hot Prospect Mark Striegl

Evolve MMA announced last week that it has added one of the hottest prospects in Asian MMA onto its star-studded roster for the Evolve Fight Team. Filipino-American Mark Striegl will join what is arguably the most stacked roster of talent in Asia with some of the best fighters in the world such as Shinya Aoki, Ben Askren, Rafael dos Anjos, Tarec Saffiedine, Herbert Burns, Eddie Ng, Leandro Issa, Jake Butler, and many others.

Striegl has run through his opponents during stints at various national leagues in Asia, amassing a 13-1 record with 11 submission victories. An invitation to join the prestigious Evolve Fight Team is perhaps one of the most coveted and career-changing opportunities in Asian MMA today. If anything, this invitation is further validation of Striegl’s fighting prowess and future potential. Many experts believe that the Filipino-American’s next move will be to sign with one of the major global MMA promotions such as UFC or ONE Fighting Championship.

Heath Sims, Head Coach of the Evolve Fight Team, expressed, “Mark has excellent talent. He passed our tryouts with flying colors. We get tons of fighters from around the world who want to be a part of the team, but we give out only 3-4 invitations a year. I am very impressed by Mark’s athletic ability and his mental toughness. The thing that a fighter like Mark needs most at this stage of his career is a world-class team of coaches and teammates around him. I am confident that Evolve can dramatically elevate every area of Mark’s game and help him to achieve his dream of becoming a world champion.”

If there is one fight team in Asia with an intimidating championship aura and mystique around it, it would be the Evolve Fight Team. Striegl, who will be moving from the Philippines to Singapore, is set to immerse himself in an environment filled with world champions from every discipline. Evolve MMA is home to the most number of world champions found anywhere in the world. Striegl, who has a background primarily in wrestling from his high school days, will look to sharpen his wrestling and submission skills in Singapore under the watchful eyes of US Olympian Heath Sims and his numerous Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt world champions. Striegl will also be looking to hone his striking skills under big name Muay Thai and boxing world champion legends Namsaknoi Yudthagarngamtorn, Orono Wor Petchpun, Attachai Fairtex, Yodsanan Sityodtong, Nonthachai Sit O, and others. With frequent visiting training partners from UFC, ONE FC, and Bellator such as Rich Franklin, Luke Rockhold, Joe Warren, Tyron Woodley, Joe Benevidez, and others, Evolve MMA will provide Striegl an opportunity to build his knowledge and skills in dramatic fashion.

Chatri Sityodtong, Founder of Evolve MMA, added, “Evolve MMA is blessed to have Mark as a part of the family. I truly believe that he will become a world champion in the future. He has the rare world championship combination of talent, work ethic, warrior spirit, and humility. In addition to his raw athletic talent, what makes Mark so special is that he is a great human being. If he works hard and listens to his coaches at Evolve, Mark will become one of Asia’s biggest stars. In life, the best attract the best and the best produce the best.”

UFC and ONE FC have not returned requests for comment on Mark Striegl’s free agency status. It remains to be seen what the future will hold for one of Asia’s hottest prospects. However, one thing is for certain, Mark Striegl has just boosted his stock and future in more ways than one by joining the mega-powerhouse Evolve Fight Team, and by surrounding himself with world-class coaches and teammates for the first time in his young career.

2015 could be a breakout year for the young, rising Filipino-American star.
