Mad Dash: Teacher asks Steph Curry to steer clear of his school

Steph Curry is one of those rare superstars who isn't really polarizing in any way. Just about every NBA fan can agree that Curry is a joy to watch, and makes the Golden State Warriors appointment viewing. Matt Amaral is a Bay Area high school teacher at Mt. Eden who also happens to be a huge Warriors fan. However, Amaral wrote in a blog that he wants Curry nowhere near his school, and more than a few people took notice. The crux: He thinks at a poor school like his, students would too easily think they, too, could be NBA stars one day like Curry, when they should be planning for a life where that doesn't happen. As you can imagine, the responses to the post have been all over the map, and a former student of Mt. Eden who went on to be a professional baseball player even weighed in with his own measured reply. Some people think Amaral's heart is in the right place, others think he went too far with the harshness of his message. We stand somewhere inbetween: Everyone should dream big, and always have a backup plan ready.

Giancarlo Stanton has no regard for the welfare of baseballs, crushing them left and right. He also apparently has no regard for the proper way to eat a Kit Kat bar, and teammate Dee Gordon is fed up. Gordon brought Stanton's barbaric approach to eating the bar — he eats the whole thing at once, rather than breaking off the individual bars — to the attention of his Twitter and Instagram followers, and the debate blew up. Kit Kat even weighed in, sending Stanton a box of bars with instructions on how to properly consume them. Yes, we're still talking about how to eat a candy bar after all of this text. We're confused, too.

This week, UConn football proudly announced the creation of its rivalry trophy for games against Central Florida. One problem, though: No one thought to run this idea by the Knights. Not the trophy itself, mind you, but the idea of the game being a rivalry in the first place. When Central Florida was asked about the trophy's creation, they responded that they had no idea what was going on. It was a fun rivalry for a few hours, at least.
