Introducing Christine Hallauer, ONE FC’s sizzling new Fil-Aussie Ring Girl

A typical Mixed Martial Arts fight is scheduled for three rounds. Some title fights are extended to five rounds.

With Christine Hallauer, you probably wish every fight went maybe twenty rounds.

The 24-year old from Perth, Australia is set to turn heads at ONE Fighting Championship Kings and Champions this coming April 5 in Singapore, not as a fighter, but as a ring girl, hoisting a placard with a number before every round.

“I was contacted by my agent that ONE FC is interested in a new ring girl and I immediately volunteered. ONE FC is the largest promotion in Asia and becoming their ring girl is a huge honor. I'm excited to be walking around the cage on April 5th, but also nervous with 12,000 fans watching me.”

“Being a ONE FC ring girl is the pinnacle of my modeling career.”

On April 5 Kotetsu Boku and Shinya Aoki will square off for the ONE FC Lightweight World Championship, while Pinoys Kevin Belingon and Rene Catalan will also see action.

Belingon takes on Australian Thanh Vu in a Bantamweight Gran Prix encounter while Catalan dukes it out with Brazilian Alex Silva in a Flyweight clash.

Hallauer is a model and student at Curtin University where she is studying Human Resources and Industrial Relations.

“I'm not just some bimbo! I have some substance too” she insists cheerily. Oh and she also speaks Swiss German, the native tongue of her Swiss father, Rudi, and understands some Filipino.

Her mother Cecilia is from Davao, and like any Filipina mom raised Christine on a diet of Filipino favorites like adobo and sinigang.

Her parents support Christine's modeling career, at least from what they know of it.

“My Dad would rather not know about my modeling jobs so I don't tell him. My Mom knows how big ONE FC is in the Philippines so she is excited that I have such a huge opportunity.”

Christine is all set for her ring girl stint, and although she doesn't need to train quite as rigorously as the gentlemen inside the ring, she has come prepared.

“I've been dancing and doing gymnastics since I was four. Its helped me prepare for my modeling career. I also have to prepare for each different assignment by practicing the different poses.”

Contrary to popular belief, the job is not without its hazards.

“Sometimes the girls in the audience like to say negative things while I go past but I choose to ignore them.”

While Hallauer is all set for next month's fight card, she's even more pumped for the upcoming ONE FC fight night in the Philippines.

“ONE FC is returning to the Philippines later this year and I'm excited to be the ring girl in front of a Filipino crowd. It would be a dream come true. I hope to visit the city as well and know more about my mother's culture. I have relatives in Manila and I'd love to visit them.”

One thing is for sure: the MMA bug has bitten Christine hard. Her sports used to be just Volleyball and Running, but now she wants to try her hand at the game.

“I've started watching the last ONE FC event and was instantly hooked. Now I wanna try it for myself!”

And would she ever go out with a ONE FC pugilist?

“I would totally date an MMA fighter. It takes a brave man to get into the ONE FC cage.”

I think few men could resist a rear naked choke from her.
