100 Olympic Tdibits: Rowing's All-time Great

Great Britain has produced many great Olympians, and the athlete regarded as the greatest British Olympian of all time is rower Sir Steven Redgrave, who won a gold medal in five consecutive Olympic Games.

Not only is Redgrave considered the greatest British Olympian, he is also the greatest Olympic rower of all time. He started collecting gold medals at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics where he won a gold in the coxed four. He added a gold in the coxless pair and a bronzed in the coxed pair at the Seoul Games, and went on to win two more golds in the coxless pair in Barcelona and Atlanta.

He capped off his gold medal haul with a gold in the 2000 Sydney Games, becoming the most bemedalled rower of all time and one of only four Olympic athletes to win five consecutive gold medals.
