Fabio Aru celebrates as he crosses the finish line to win the 20th stage of the Giro d'Italia cycling race on May 30, 2015 in Sestriere

Italy's breakthrough cycling talent Fabio Aru, second in the Giro d'Italia overall may now be included in Astana's line-up for the Tour de France. Aru had been penned in to race the Giro and the Tour of Spain, but team boss Alexandre Vinokourov is now mulling giving the nod to the 24-year-old to race the Tour de France. "We'll see how he recuperates from the Giro. But Fabio needs to gain experience, to get to know the Tour, where he can target the white jersey for best young rider," said the Kazakh. The Sardinian who has won the last two mountain stages on the Giro was giving nothing away: "I'm just concentrating on the last stage of the Giro, then I'll have a chat with 'Vino' about what's upcoming on the programme," he said. Aru's compatriot Vincenzo Nibali is the current champion of the Tour de France and will lead the Astana team in the 2015 edition.
