Bernard Parker fails to understand Kaizer Chiefs fans

Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana forward Bernard Parker has offered words of support to his teammate and striker Kingston Nkhatha.

Nkhatha has been booed by the Chiefs fans since the beginning of the season, and Parker, who was booed two seasons ago when he was struggling with goalscoring form, revealed that he told the Zimbabwean striker to keep going.

“It happened to me two years ago. When it happened to my striking partner last Saturday, I went to him [Nkhatha] and encouraged him to hold his head high and focus on the game,” Parker told the Chiefs website.

Parker has appealed to the AmaKhosi faithful to support their players through thick and thin, and stop booing them.

“I am just appealing to the fans to do the right thing. I cannot understand why they boo the player at the beginning of the game and while the game is still on, that baffles me,” he said.

The 27-year-old Parker came to the party last season, scoring 14 goals in all competitions to help AmaKhosi clinch the PSL title and the Nedbank Cup.
