The super featherweight battle between Nonito Donaire of the Philippines and reigning WBA champion Simpiwe Vetyeka of South Africa is now set as the two made weight in Macau.

Donaire  (32-2-0, 21 KOs) is chasing his fifth world title in as many divisions but Vetyeka (26-2-0, 16 KOs) is not an easy opponent.

After losing for only the second time in his career back in June of 2012, Vetyeka strung together three straight victories against very good opposition. He scored back to back stoppage wins against Indonesian warriors. He first stopped Daud Cino Yordan and then retired Indonesian legend Chris John to win the WBA featherweight title.

Donaire on the other hand had a hot and cold 2013. He lost his WBO super bantamweight title with a lackluster performance against Guillermo Rigondeaux. He then struggled against Vic Darchinyan but managed to score a ninth round technical knockout to salvage a win.

Against Vetyeka, Donaire is promising a new and improved version of himself as he is not training full time with his father Nonito Donaire Sr.

“I believe in myself. I'll bring my title back (to South Africa),” said Vetyeka in a short interview after the weigh in.

“It's a definite must-win (fight for me),” said Donaire. “It will be a very entertaining fight. It can end in any round.”

In the undercard, Nicholas Walters weighed in at 125.5 while his opponent Vic Darchinyan weighed in at 125.75.
