Draft Focus: Is there more to Eric Camson than his mid-range jay?

Name: Eric Camson

School: Adamson University

Instant Analysis: Eric Camson is practically facing the same challenges as Nico Salva coming into this draft. Can he rebound and defend as a power forward in the PBA? Has he developed a post game to be able to play power forward in the pros? Is there more to him on offense than his mid-range jumper?

Although he rebounded well in college (8.3 boards per game in his last two college seasons), at a not-so-big 6-3, he’s going to have tons of trouble playing the four spot in the PBA. That’s why I think some people are thinking that it would be easier for him to adjust to play small forward at the next level. But see, Eric Camson is so far away from being able to dribble in front of pro small forwards. He’s even farther from being able to defend even the regular small forwards. Plus he’s going to have to develop a three-point shot and some moves to attack the basket.

Projection: Early to mid second round

Best-case scenario: Goes to Rain or Shine and Yeng Guiao finds a way to translate his skills to the PBA

Worst-case scenario: Goes back to the D-League after a year
