Clermont duo Wesley Fofana and Sitiveni Sivivatu and Castres scrum-half Rory Kockott are all in the running for the Top 14 Player of the Year for the 2012-13 season, it was announced Thursday. Top 14 organisers, the LNR (Ligue nationale de rugby), will bestow the trophy on October 21 after a vote by Provale, the trade union representing professional players in France. France international centre Fofana and ex-All Black winger Sivivatu scored 10 and seven tries respectively as they helped Clermont to finish atop the league after the regular season, before they were knocked out in the semi-finals by eventual winners Castres. Clermont also made the final of the European Cup, where they lost to Top 14 rivals Toulon 16-15. South African Kockott finished last season as the Top 14's highest points scorer with 376 for Castres, three ahead of Toulon fly-half Jonny Wilkinson.
