Gilas Pilipinas rebounded from back-to-back defeats as it dominated the Auckland Rangers with a 95-77 win in their 'friendly' match yesterday at the St. Kentigern's gym in Auckland, New Zealand.
With the victory, the national team improved its record to 3-2 in its tune-up in New Zealand, the final stage for the Chot Reyes-mentored squad in preparation for the FIBA-Asia Championship here on Aug. 1 to 11.
Using his Twitter account @josh_reyes, Gilas assistant coach Josh Reyes posted "Big win tonight vs. the Rangers. Thanks to all the Pinoys here in Auckland who came out and supported."
Gilas Pilipinas won its first two games both against the Hawkes Bay Hawks, but lost to the NBL All-Stars, 85-86, in Napier last Sunday. They also dropped a close one opposite the Wellington Saints (96-100) last Tuesday.
