We are interested in Lavezzi, says PSG scout Ciaschini

Paris Saint-Germain scout Giorgio Ciaschini claims the big-spending French club are interesting in acquiring the services of Napoli forward Ezequiel Lavezzi this summer.

The Argentina international has been in fine form during the 2012-12 campaign and currently has 11 goals in all competitions from 37 appearances.

It is this form that has alerted a number of leading European clubs and Ciaschini has admitted that Carlo Ancelotti would welcome the striker at the Parc des Princes.

"PSG are looking for several different players. French football right now is not the same as Italian or English football. Going into the Champions League, Ancelotti is not looking for just one forward, but players in various roles and Lavezzi is of interest to Paris Saint-German," the scout told Radio Crc.

"Lavezzi is a player who many clubs like, but I don’t know if he will leave Napoli. I know 'Pocho' well and PSG sent scouts to view him because he could help the side achieve important targets.

"Today’s players are drawn not only to big contracts, but above all clubs that can help them take a step up in their careers. I think Ancelotti and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis speak often, especially as Carlo has an excellent rapport with most directors."

Lavezzi is believed to have a buyout clause in his contract worth €32 million and Ciaschini also spoke about the value of any potential transfer.

"Does that sum reflect the real value of Lavezzi? I don’t talk about figures, as that is something I do not know about, but I do know Lavezzi is a great player and therefore worth a great deal," he concluded.

The 27-year-old joined Napoli in the summer of 2007 for a fee believed to be €6m from San Lorenzo.
