Mark Caguioa blasts 'soft' teammates on social media

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s Mark Caguioa, one of the pillars of the team for the longest time and the bridge from the Robert Jaworski era to the current one, used social media to blasts his teammates anew.

After finishing the 2014 Philippine Cup on top of the eliminations, Ginebra lost in the semis to the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers, the eventual champions, in a seven-game series. In the game when they were eliminated, the Kings suffered their worst loss of the series as they were blown out.

The same thing happened against the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters as the Kings were blown out again with some of their fans deciding the game was over after the third quarter which saw Talk ‘N Text score 27 points. Twitter was abuzz during the game. Some talked about the Tropang Texters brilliance while the other talked about Ginebra’s lack of fire.

Kilala ba nila si Coach Sonny [Jaworski]? Noli Locsin? Pido [Jarencio]? Bal David? Rudy Distrito? Itong mga player na ‘to makikipag palitan talaga ng mukha,” continued Caguioa. “Wala ng ganitong players ngayon kung meron man hindi pinapalaro dahil nga parang nag-po-promote lang kami ng mga players ngayon.”

In Ginebra’s last game of the conference, Caguioa played 32 minutes and scored 19 points to lead his team. The Spark was scorching from the field, making 9 of 13 shots but he did not get much help from everyone else.

Coaching has been one of the primary complaints of Ginebra fans. After Ato Agustin led them in the Philippine Cup, the wheels started coming off in the semis when PBA fans witnessed multiple coaches talking while Agustin was drawing up plays for Ginebra. Agustin retained the title of head coach but for all intents and purposes, Juno Sauler was Ginebra’s head coach this conference.

Ginebra fans have been clamoring for change in coaching but Caguioa disagreed.

“Let me tell you guys kahit si Phil Jackson mag coach sa ganitong team hindi parin papasok sa semis. Walang mga puso mag laro WALA WALA WALA!
