Mayweather posts a photo of hotel meeting with Pacquiao

Floyd Mayweather posts a picture of his meeting with Manny Pacquiao.

The drama surrounding the negotiations for the Floyd Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao mega-fight continues to roll on days after an announcement was made during Super Bowl Sunday.

Pacquiao said that he was giving Mayweather until the end of January to decide but that deadline has also passed with still no announcement being made.

To clear the air, Mayweather posted a photo of his meeting with Pacquiao inside the latter’s hotel room in Miami.

“I set up this meeting with Manny Pacquiao to get this fight done but they will continue to tell the public it's us and that's NOT TRUE,” the caption read. “So while we wait y'all go download Shots ASAP so I can keep you all updated on the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight, that we are trying to make happen.”

After the meeting, Pacquiao has been largely mum on the negotiations as Top Rank Promotions’ boss Bob Arum has done much of the talking.

Another interested party has also made his presence felt earlier this week as boxer Amir Khan opined that he thinks Mayweather-Pacquiao will not push through.

“Honestly that fight will never happen, in my opinion. I spoke to Manny Pacquiao and, obviously, we speak to Mayweather and his team. I can't really see that fight happening, there is too much politics with that fight,” Khan said. “There's different promotions teams and different management teams—I don't think they will let that fight happen.”

Khan is eagerly awaiting the result of the Mayweather-Pacquiao negotiations because he could end up fighting one of them next.
