Kobe Paras wins slam dunk contest in FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships

Team Philippines may have failed to advance to the knockout stages of the FIBA U18 3x3 World Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia, but the boys won't go home empty-handed after Kobe Paras won the slam dunk contest following a spectacular stunt that saw him jumping over a teammate on a motorcycle.

Paras, a junior at La Salle Greenhills and son of PBA legend Benjie, won the contest by jumping over Thirdy Ravena while the latter was seated on a motorcycle. Here's a video of the gold medal-winning dunk:



Paras made it to the semifinals by doing this between-the-legs slam that earned a perfect score from the judges:


Antonio Morales of Spain won the silver medal while Demonte Flannigan of the United States and Sung Min Hui of China both won bronze medals. According to Philippine coach John Flores, Morales stands six-foot-seven while Flannigan is six-foot-five. Paras is only around six-foot-three.
