The King is here.

Miami Heat superstar LeBron James arrived in the country at around 5:45PM local time onboard a private jet and was immediately whisked away to a hotel in Makati City where he is billeted for the duration of his stay in Manila.

"LBJ has landed," was the simple text sent from Lhen Hasal, media relations manager of the PR firm handling the superstar's historic visit, to Yahoo! Philippines.

James, who is here for a Nike-sponsored #WitnessHistory event on July 23, was dressed in a yellow shirt and blue jeans with a knapsack on his back when he disembarked from his plane, based on this Instagram photo.

The reigning NBA MVP and two-time NBA champion will appear before the local media on Tuesday morning before proceeding to the Nike Store in Bonifacio High Street at around 12 noon. He will cap his brief stay with an event for local fans at the Mall of Asia Arena, for which people lined up for two days just to get tickets.

Several local players have been tapped to participate in a special skills challenge at the MOA Arena, and a couple of them couldn't hide their excitement on Twitter.
