Nonito Donaire was dunked in ice water and raised around $5,000 for the ALS [amyotrophic lateral sclerosis] Association in a unique version of the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Former WWE superstar Batista was one of many celebrities who completed the Ice Bucket Challenge and he ended his video by challenging Donaire.

The reigning WBA featherweight champion took only a couple of hours to plan out the event which involved him being dunked in water by people in exchange for donations.

Usually, a bucket of ice water is poured over the heads of those up for the challenge but Donaire gave it a twist.

“Ultimate Ice challenge! I'm getting dunked tonight regardless but people are donating money for each ball thrown at specific lines just to dunk me. All water is recycled and all celebs are going to use the same ice dunk tank,” Donaire posted on his official Facebook account.

Anyone who wanted to dunk Donaire or any other celebrity in the water could pay $200 for a point blank shot. The donation is lowered with every step away from the target.

“This is MY ALS Ice bucket challenge! We put this together in only a couple hours of getting challenged by Dave Bautista (Batista). We heard people were complaining of two things: no money donated and water wasted. So we Vegas styled it up! Every ball thrown had a price to throw on it so all that (we raised around $5000 and counting) goes to ALS and we STILL got dunked for charity,” Donaire posted.

“Thanks to all who supported on such short noticed. I love you all for having such great hearts!”
