Pacman has arrived! Pacquiao scores first PBA point

Manny Pacquiao finally scored a point in a PBA game. After playing two games with KIA in the Philippine Cup where he amassed a grant total of zero points and two rebounds in 14 minutes, Pacquiao, the playing coach of his team, scored his first PBA point as he was fouled with 11:24 left in the second quarter against the defending champion Purefoods Star Hotshots in their Commissioner's Cup game at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Pacquiao, the reigning WBO welterweight champion of the world, checked himself into the game at the start of the second quarter. He drove to the basket for an attempt and was fouled by Allein Maliksi.

He missed his first free throw but made the second one to give the Carnival a 22-21 advantage. Pacquiao missed two shots from the field but he issued an assist to PJ Ramos.



Karl Dehesa then stepped into the game at the 7:22 mark of the second to substitute Pacquiao.

The boxer, pastor, and Sarangani Representative was picked by KIA with their first round selection in the 2014 PBA Draft. Even if he only played two games in the Philippine Cup, he was included in the rookie team that will play against the sophomores in the PBA All Star Weekend in Palawan.
