Pacquiao says Mayweather a 'nice' guy who changes when his people are around

Manny Pacquiao claims that Floyd Mayweather is a good person after meeting him on two occasions in Miami a few days ago. However, the WBO welterweight champion added that Mayweather changes when people are around him.

Pacquiao said this in an interview with Philboxing.com’s Dong Secuya who was present when the fighter was presented with the WBO super champion belt last Tuesday by WBO Vice-President Leon Panoncillo Jr,

“I had nothing to do because our flight [back to LA] was canceled,” said Pacquiao about meeting Mayweather for the first time. “So we went to see the Miami versus Milwaukee basketball game and I was surprised to see Floyd across the court. Well, not that surprised because I know Floyd has a house in Miami and he always watches the Heat games. I also learned Floyd and his friends usually sit where we sat. When Floyd approached me across the court, we were surrounded by a lot of people. Maybe they're thinking that we're going to fight, there and then,” Pacquiao continued.

After a short meeting on the court, Mayweather got Pacquiao’s number and set up a meeting later that night on the latter’s suite. “Later that night he visited me at my hotel. He did most the talking, and I just listened. I think Floyd is essentially a good person, a nice person,” Pacquiao said. “However, when Floyd is surrounded by his people, his attitude changes and he becomes bossy.”

The camps of the two fighters are still in negotiations for a mega-fight penciled for May 2nd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Pacquiao said that they’re just waiting for Mayweather’s signature and that the announcement of the fight will come from the undefeated American’s side.
