Romeo, Salva trade barbs on Twitter

The bitterness of losing for the first time this season apparently got to Far Eastern University point guard Terrence Romeo, who couldn't resist getting into a Twitter war with former Ateneo forward Nico Salva minutes after the Tamaraws fell to the National University Bulldogs in their first game of the UAAP Season 76 second round.

Romeo shot a dismal 3-of-16 from the field and finished with only eight markers, and committed a crucial turnover in the dying seconds of the game after waving off teammate RR Garcia, who had 10 points in the fourth quarter, and deciding to go one-on-one.

That turnover led to two free throws by Bobby Ray Parks with 9.5 seconds that gave the Bulldogs the lead for good.

This prompted Salva to remark on Twitter:

"Romeo is back to his old self. Why dont u just give the ball to RR?"

Not amused by the remark, Romeo shot back:

"bat di ikaw ang maglaro."

To which Salva, who won five titles in every year he played for the Blue Eagles, replied:

"naka limang taon na ako bro e. sorry. Tuloy mo lang yan. Ayos yan haha"

Intent on getting in the last word, Romeo retorted:

"hilig mo makasali e noh? Paki alam nalang yung game mo. Hindi naman kita pinapakialam e. bro???"

Eventually the two simmered down, although it will be interesting to see what happens if and when they meet in the PBA D-League later this year.
