London, Feb 26 (ANI): As the stricken Formula One legend Michael Schumacher continues his painfully slow recovery at his Swiss lakeside home, his family have reportedly sold off their holiday home in Norway for a little less than 2 million pounds. The sale of the home, coming just months after Schumacher's wife Corinna sold his private jet for 25 million pounds, has reportedly been seen as further proof that the former star of the world's racetracks would not be going anywhere soon. However, a newspaper revealed that the family had planned the sale before the ski accident which left the German in a coma and paralyzed and that negotiations to sell the property were actually suspended while Schumacher was being treated for his brain injuries, The Independent reported. A German newspaper on Wednesday reported the sale of the ski chalet in Trysil in the province of Hedmark. Some 130 miles north east from the capital Oslo, the wooden house was built to Schumacher's specifications in the mid 1990's on a huge piece of land providing for 645 square metres of living space and a garage capable of housing seven cars. The house also has a gym, sauna and whirpool baths and luxuriously equipped kitchen. Schumacher reportedly used to train with the local football team when he was there and helped out with the financing of a new sports hall for locals. Schumacher suffered severe head injuries on December 29, 2013 when he smashed his head on to hidden rocks while skiing in the French resort of Meribel. The Formula One legend spent months in a coma, a short spell in a Swiss clinic and, since September last year, has been care for by a staff of 15 specialists at a medical suite crafted from rooms at his 35 million-pound mansion in Gland, Switzerland.
