Projection: This could start a trend in the world of collegiate basketball. You don’t see it very often that a player that made the Mythical 5 jump schools. Even less often do you see that player jumping leagues. And even less than that will you see someone jump from the UAAP to the NCAA. Now, you ask yourself, “why?”
I think that this was a great move for Reinier Quinga to bring his talents to Benilde. He might not be as big named as the Tolentinos or the Ravenas of the world, but he will definitely get some major run with the Blazers. Playing heavy minutes in his first season will give him a lot of exposure to high level basketball. Armed with some good outside shooting, size that can ride with the big boys, and a will to wear topsiders in school proves that he will be a pretty good fit in DLS-CSB.
