Talk ‘N Text Fight For Survival Against Rain Or Shine
WHAT THIS GAME MEANS
Staying alive.
The last time that Talk ‘N Text didn’t automatically book a playoff seat was back in the 2009 Fiesta Conference. Well, technically. They qualified to play in the wildcard round because, umm, all teams did.
I must admit, it’s gonna be interesting to see a powerhouse team like TNT get dropped in the elims. They’ve become too familiar in the post-season and the Finals scene. But getting rid of them won’t easy. It never is.
This games means a lot to Rain or Shine. It can be the difference between having a twice-to-beat advantage or not. But obviously, it means more to the Tropa. Coach Norman will have to come up with something magical in order to keep them in the running.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR
Talk ‘N Text’s new reinforcement.
Tony Mitchell out, Courtney Fells in. Big shoes to fill, even bigger task at hand. Can he save Talk ‘N Text from a shocking elimination?
WHO TO WATCH OUT FOR
Gilas boys of both squads.
These two teams lent a combined 7 players to the national squad for the 2013 FIBA Asia Championships. They played well together. They starred for the country.
Jeff Chan knocked down big shot after big shot. Larry Fonacier played solidly to his role. Ranidel de Ocampo hit his share of shots. Gabe Norwood cuffed every opposing star player. Jimmy Alapag was heart and soul of the team. Beau Belga helped in every way he can as a reserve. And Jayson Castro… was Jayson Castro.
Look for them to have that Gilas hangover. They’ll pick each other up after a fall, exchange playful trashtalk and plan their Spain itinerary. But they know the task at the moment. And they’ll go hard against each other. It’s gonna be an epic battle.
Best believe.
